Off to the Doctor

This morning Meredith had an appointment with our Pediatrician. The appointment was for a check up and for her first round of shots. She did so well. She only cried a little when they gave her her shots, but who could blame her...even I cried. Not only do I HATE needles but I HATED knowing that she was in pain and could not do anything for her.

Anyways, as for her weight, she is now 11 lbs., 4 oz.; which puts her in the 75th percentile and she is 25 inches long; which puts her in the 79th percentile.

The doctor also placed her on her stomach to see how well she held her head up and was floored by how well M did. She said that babies her age are not very good at holding their heads up and can usually only do it to a certain height and only for a short amount of time. Meredith can not only hold her head up for long periods of time, but she is holding her chest up by using her elbows! She is so strong and growing so fast.

We have our next appointment in two months.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had our very first Thanksgiving with Meredith! We went down to Tiki Island on Thanksgiving morning and spent the night with my family. We had a huge meal including Grandmother Sharps' dressing and my Grandmothers' Stuffed Celery...which I made. Below are a couple of pics of M helping me in the kitchen.

On to Park City!

Last Thursday Chase, myself and Meredith were off to Park City, Utah. She was perfect on the flights there and back.

The first night in Utah we stayed in Salt Lake City in the nicest suite at the Grand America. We drove around, ordered room service, and enjoyed a relaxing night together. The next morning we ordered breakfast in the room and got ready to drive to Park City. Chase surprised me by having us stay in a cottage with perfect views of the mountains and a lake. It snowed the duration of our stay which made it really feel like winter.

It was an awesome trip. Thank you Hubby!!

Girl's Trip

On November 1st I left Chase and M to go on a four day cruise to Mexico for Allison's bachelorette party. We all had the best time laying around in the sun, getting down on the dance floor, and laughing... a lot.

The first night we all dressed up in 80's attire. And yes, even I took part.

Welcome Meredith Reese Williamson

So, on the evening of Wednesday, September 19th Chase and I were admitted into the hospital due to my relentless high blood pressure. After getting all situated in our room and hooked up to all their machines, it became clear that I was already having constant contractions. They were noticeable but not what I would consider to be painful. At that time I was dilated to a three.

Soon after, I was in the bathroom and my water broke on its own...all over the floor. After my water broke I really started to feel some intense contractions. The doctors decided to go ahead and give me pitocin and I was given some temporary pain meds through my IV so that I could just get some sleep. After getting a little sleep I woke up in a lot of pain and realized the I needed the epidural. The RN checked me and I was dilated to a five. I was in so much pain that I didn't even care about what all the epidural entailed. They were very quick about everything and before I knew it I was numb from the waist down. Chase and I were in and out of sleep all night until around six a.m when I was checked again and was fully dilated. It was time to start pushing!

After having a nice view of the sunrising and four hours of pushing, Baby M was born. The doctor placed her on me chest; she was gorgeous! They took her to another part of the room to clean her off, weight her, check her, etc. She was 8 lbs., 10 oz., and measured 21 inches long...and perfect.

Needless to say I was tired and do not really remember very much of the next hour or two. I know that she was checked my the hospitals' pediatrician and was given a clean bill of health. We were moved to a post delivery room were Chase, Baby M and I stayed for the next two days. We took some time on Friday to talk about what we wanted to name her and it didn't take long before we decided on Meredith Reese.

During our stay we had so many friends and family members come to meet Meredith. We came home on the afternoon of Saturday, September 22nd. Glen and Vicki had been staying with us and they had a decorated the house and had a full, home cooked meal ready for us.

It was the best experience of my life. Chase was right there with me the entire time. He was amazing and constantly supportive. We are so proud of our little family.

Here she is...

August Baby Shower

On August 18th, some of my closest friends hosted a gorgeous baby shower for myself and M. I was so overwhelmed by how many people attended to show their support and to celebrate. I got the chance to see friends that I had not seen in a very long time; including friends from out of town.

Needless to say baby M is all set with everything she will need.
